Project WILD and Project WET

The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, a Division of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks is the sponsor for the International Project WILD program and the Project WET program.
Project WILD capitalizes on the natural interest that children and adults have in wildlife by providing hands-on activities that enhance student learning in all subject and skill areas. Project WILD helps educators guide students through a process that begins with awareness, moves toward understanding, challenges preconceived notions, and instills the confidence, skills, and motivation to take responsible action on behalf of the environment.
Project WET helps to facilitate and promote the awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the development and dissemination of classroom ready teaching aids.
